Policy on the use of artificial intelligence (ai) and ai-assisted technologies
(in accordance with the requirements of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and international publication ethics standards)
1. General Provisions
This Policy defines the principles, conditions, and limitations for using artificial intelligence (AI) technologies in the preparation, submission, review, and publication of manuscripts.
The Editorial Board recognizes AI as a supportive tool; however, full responsibility for the content remains with the authors.
2. Permitted Uses of AI
Authors may use AI tools only as auxiliary instruments for:
- language editing and stylistic improvement;
- grammar and spelling checks;
- translation;
- manuscript formatting;
- assistance in preparing figures and diagrams (without distorting scientific content);
- data analysis, provided results are carefully verified.
AI use must not affect the originality, reliability, and objectivity of research results.
3. Prohibited Uses of AI
The use of AI is prohibited for:
- generating or fabricating research data;
- falsifying results;
- automatic writing of scientific papers without substantial author contribution;
- generating conclusions not based on real data;
- creating fictitious references;
- bypassing peer-review procedures;
- misrepresentation of authorship.
AI systems cannot be listed as authors or co-authors.
4. Disclosure of AI Use
4.1. Authors must disclose any use of AI tools during manuscript preparation.
4.2. Such information must be included in the Acknowledgements or Notes section.
4.3. The disclosure should specify:
- the name of the AI tool;
- the purpose of use;
- the type of assistance provided.
Example statement: “The authors used the AI tool (name) for language editing during manuscript preparation. All scientific conclusions were developed independently by the authors.”
5. Author Responsibility
Authors bear full responsibility for:
- data accuracy;
- originality;
- absence of plagiarism;
- proper citation;
- ethical compliance.
The use of AI does not exempt authors from liability for misconduct.
6. Compliance Monitoring
The Editorial Board reserves the right to:
- screen manuscripts using specialized software;
- request additional explanations regarding AI use;
- reject submissions that violate this Policy.
7. Sanctions for Violations
Violations of this Policy may result in:
- rejection of the manuscript;
- retraction of published articles;
- notification of authors’ institutions;
- restriction of future cooperation.
